Pax, Pilgrims.

How blessed can a brother be in getting to see two amazing gigs (albeit just 5 mins of each!) in one evening? First off was Ramsey Lewis at St. Luke’s (See blog here), and then, through the miracle that is the short cut & back alley, I’m at the Barbican within 7 minutes to shoot Bela Fleck on Banjo, Edgar Meyers on the Upright Bass and Zakir Hussain on Tabla.  Each man brought something unique to the stage and if you were there and didn’t receive, then you’re fresh out of luck! Think about it: a combo of bluegrass, Jazz & Indian percussion? These three geniuses thought it would work. And how!!  You could just tell by look at the way the three of them were interacting that they were having fun.

Here’s a youtube clip to give you an idea of how the concert was.
